We are planning to continue Monday and Wednesday walks throughout October on the same basis as in September so pre-booking is still required. The October Programme can be found under Information, EEHW Information. We are still not able to resume Sunday walks. Any changes will be posted here and, where possible, walkers will be advised by E-mail.
Following the announcement of the latest Government COVID restrictions
there was doubt as to whether we would be permitted to continue our
We have now received clarification from Ramblers Walking for Health that
we are classified under ‘Outdoor physical activity events’ and I am
pleased to say that we are able to continue with our programme under the
previously advised arrangements.
We are pleased to announce that Wednesday walks will resume on 9 September and Monday walks will resume on 14 September. However there will be a number of changes to help limit the spread of Covid-19. The most significant of these will be a limit on numbers attending and a resulting need to pre-book your place on walks – see September 2020 Programme under Information, EEHW Information for further information.
It seems a long time since March when we announced the suspension of our health walks. The country is gradually emerging from Lock Down but at the time of writing (17 July) health walks remain suspended. We are being guided by our national body (Ramblers Walking for Health) and we will set in hand the process of restarting our walks once they give us the go ahead. If you received an E-mail from Keith Childs in March announcing the suspension of walks then you should receive another from him announcing the resumption of walks when the time comes.
Although our 2020 AGM has been cancelled due to Covid-19, our Annual Report, Financial Statement and Statistical Report for 2019-20 are now available on our EEHW Information page under Documents. The Annual Report includes plans to request a donation of £10 from each walker in or after 2021.
We had planned to hold our 2020 AGM at Boidier Hurst, Headley on Wednesday 13 May. Following on from the cancellation of health walks until further notice, the AGM has also been cancelled. We are still aiming to have our annual report and supporting documents available on our web site by 30 April.
Ramblers Walking for Health have advised that in accordance with Government recommendations all health walks will be suspended until further notice so the walk scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday 18 March) is cancelled as are all future walks until further notice.
We are aiming to advise all those who have walked in 2020 by E-mail over the next couple of days. If you haven’t received an E-mail by Friday 20 March it is probably because we do not hold your current E-mail address and so we would ask that you send this to email@example.com so that we can advise you when health walks restart.
At present our health walks are continuing as scheduled. However, this may change at short notice either because we are given guidance to stop all walks or because walk leaders withdraw at short notice and walks have to be cancelled. Any changes or cancellations will be posted here when they become known. We may also try and inform likely attendees by E-mail. If you didn’t give your E-mail address when you registered or it may have changed, please send your current E-mail address to firstname.lastname@example.org
Our 2020 AGM will be held at 11.30 on Wednesday 13 May at Boidier Hurst Scout Camp, Box Hill Road, Headley, KT20 7PL It will be preceded by optional 1 hour and 30 minute walks starting at 10.00 and 10.30 respectively. Coffee will be available prior to the meeting. For further information see the AGM 2020 Invite under Documents under EEHW Information on our Information page.
In view of the forecast gales and heavy rain this walk has been cancelled.
